Learning English Through Board Games?

"Those who know are not as good as those who love, and those who love are not as good as those who find joy in it." Recently, the CDUTCM-Keele Joint Health and Medical Sciences Institute hosted a unique "Integrating Education with Entertainment: English Interactive Experience" activity. By introducing the British "teacher-student interaction and student-student interaction" teaching philosophy, foreign teachers used various international board games as a medium to teach vocabulary, speaking, and English logical expression. Through a variety of interactive games, students experienced immersive "Happy English" learning.

After introducing the rules of several popular international board games, the foreign teachers guided the students in group gameplay. During the games, students fully utilized English for expression, practicing their listening, speaking, reading, vocabulary, and segment skills, thus further enhancing their English proficiency. Additionally, in a competitive environment, they learned how to improve team collaboration, strengthen team cohesion, and boost their soft skills.

"I never thought learning English could be so much fun, and through the international board games introduced by the teachers, I felt the wonderful collision and fusion of different cultures," said one student. This English interactive experience activity combined education with "play" and learning with "games," allowing students to practice English expression and usage in a game setting, gaining knowledge and skills in a joyful environment.
